Cornerstone Coffee House
About Coffee House
Through a grant from the Drug and Alcohol Consortium of Allen County, we have created the Cornerstone Coffee House to serve the 10-12 grade youth as a program discussing Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Education (ATOD). This program encourages the youth to come to the center on a weekly basis for fellowship and fun as well as discuss a certain component for drug and alcohol education using the proven curriculum, Project Alert, but redesigned for older adolescents. Like our CHAOS Groups, these sessions give youth a comfortable environment to discuss life issues and situations while focusing on topics of a more mature nature as well as goal setting.
By offering a safe discussion environment and drug and alcohol education, we are strengthening the following assets: #3 Other Adult Relationships, #38 Self-Esteem, #40, Positive View of Personal Future, #34 Resistance Skills, #15 Positive Peer Influence, #28 Honesty, #32 Planning and Decision Making, #33 Interpersonal Competence.
