Cornerstone expanding programming in Fall

We are excited to announce Cornerstone Youth Center is coming to Heritage Jr. High School to offer after school programming for students in grades 7 and 8.  Heritage Jr High School joins New Haven Middle School as a Cornerstone Connections Project Site where programs are designed with this particular grade range and needs in mind.  Daily students are offered a healthy snack, homework help, academic learning center activities, and recreation.  The learning center activities change depending on the day and throughout the year school year depending on community partner availability.  Learning centers are designed for STEAM [science, technology, engineering, arts (visual, performance, and language) and math].  Other available activities include: college and career readiness (Summit), life skills development (The Code), and alcohol/drug prevention (Viva).

Even though Cornerstone Connections Project [CCP] is held in a school setting, the activities are designed to be fun, interactive, experiential, and motivating students to learn and grow.  CCP at Heritage Jr High School is in session after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.  Transportation is available to students residing in the Heritage school area through EACS buses.

Junior high students are still welcome and Cornerstone Youth Center, but we know they will want to take advantage of the community partners and age range specific activities in the CCP programs.

Cornerstone Youth Center is the hub for high school students and activities are planned with them in mind during after school hours.  Weekend Drop-In Center Hours are planned for 7th -12th grade students to enjoy.

For those looking for after school programing for younger students, LEARN Resource Center manages our CCP site at Heritage Elementary School for grades K-6th.
