This is the time of year when our minds turn to giving. In fact, Giving Tuesday falls on Nov. 28 this year. Giving Tuesday immediately follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday and kicks off the charitable season, when many people focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
With that in mind, you can help support Cornerstone Youth Center in many ways other than the traditional direct donation.
For example, Cornerstone’s annual Cookie Walk and Poinsettia Sale is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2. Please stop by and purchase some cookies and or a poinsettia. In addition, we also will have holiday items for sale in our Christmas boutique.
Enrolling in the Kroger Community Rewards program is another way to support Cornerstone. To get started, just go to the Kroger Community Rewards website at www.kroger.com/communityrewards, sign up with your Kroger Plus Card and select Cornerstone as the organization you want to support. Once enrolled, you will earn money for Cornerstone every time you use your Plus Card while shopping at Kroger.
Similarly, the Amazon Smiles program also forwards a percentage of your Amazon expenditures to an organization of your choice. Just go to smile.amazon.com to support Cornerstone through Amazon.
Cornerstone also is an option for any Thrivent Financial member with remaining Thrivent Choice Dollars. Please take a few minutes now to call them at 1-800-847-4836 to direct your choice dollars or go online to www.thrivent.com/thrivent/choice. The Thrivent Choice dollars program was started in 2010 as a way for you to direct some of the fraternal dollars to charities that make a difference right in your community. The Thrivent Choice Dollars program continues to be an important part of our income from the local community.
In addition, if and when you donate money to United Way, please consider selecting Cornerstone as the designated recipient of your donation.
Thank you so much for supporting Cornerstone Youth Center!
